HISTORY
In the fall of 2009, seven influential and dedicated women of Grand Valley State university established the Alpha Nu chapter of Sigma Lambda Upsilon/Senoritas Latinas Unidas Sorority, inc.: Hermana Delia Fernandez, Hermana Madeline Aguillon, Hermana Andrea Gomez-cervantes, Hermana Ivett Lopez Pompa, Hermana Brenda Gonzalez, Hermana Ciara Morgan, and Hermana Mariana Saucedo. These women felt there was a need for an organization that would serve as a voice for underrepresented populations and give women empowerment on campus and in their lives. Although the Alpha Nu chapter was recently established, these women are a model organization that will raise the standards with excellence in programming, strong leadership and academic achievement.
