Sigma Lambda Upsilon/Señoritas Latinas Unidas Sorority, Inc. exists to advance women and the Latin@ community through service, education, and a lifelong sisterhood of Hermanas committed to social and political change. Our member join through one of two kinds of chapters: undergraduate chapters on college campuses, and Graduate/Professional Chapters for alumnae.

Undergraduate Chapters

Our undergraduate chapters were founded to build a bridge between women committed to the political and social advancement of underrepresented populations. Hermanas in these chapters organize community service projects, mentor one another academically, and host cultural programming that celebrates Latin@ heritage. It’s a space to grow as a leader while staying rooted in community.

Graduate/Professional Chapters

Membership in SLU is a lifelong commitment. Our Graduate/Professional Chapters (GPC) give Hermanas a way to stay connected to the sorority and to each other well beyond graduation. GPC members organize community initiatives, mentor undergraduate members, and support one another through new careers, cities, and life milestones. These chapters carry our mission forward through political engagement, social action, and economic development in the communities we serve.
